DAMA BeLux Re-launch is now !

September 2016

Dear friends, members, colleagues:

We are very pleased to announce that the ‘re-launch’ of DAMA BeLux is happening now, and we hope that you will join us and pro-actively participate in our events and activities.

The DAMA BeLux ‘re-launch’ will start with a special kick-off event on Wednesday, 12th October, “The IoT (Internet of Things), GS1 standards, and Supply Chain management”, and will be kindly hosted by GS1, at their Global headquarters on Avenue Louise (1050 Brussels).

Our ‘re-launch’ is also expected to benefit significantly from the help of three newly appointed directors:

  • Mr. Jean Evelette, Head of Data Management, ArcelorMittal (Luxembourg);
  • Mr. Serge Lodens, Enterprise Architect, AXA (Belgium)
  • Mr. Stijn Roelens, Enterprise Business Intelligence Architect, Volvo Corporate Process & IT (Belgium)

We are very pleased that they have joined our Board of Directors, and hope that you will be able to welcome them at our event on Wednesday, 12th October.  As usual, we plan to have a ‘networking drink’ following the presentations and discussions, always an essential part of our agenda where you can meet other data management professionals and exchange ideas.

Our ‘re-launch’ also features a discounted membership (for individuals and corporations), for which you can find details on the membership page.

We encourage you to join us, for this important new chapter in the evolution of DAMA BeLux.

Presentations of the March 24th “The case for the CDO” event online

Thanks to our sponsor ING and the excellent presentations of Mr. Bert van de Haar (Program Director, Global Data Management, ING) and Mr. Nic Gordon (Senior Expert, Big Data and Advanced Analytics, The Boston Consulting Group) we had a great first event for 2015.

We had a full house with close to 50 people participating. After an update of the current state of DAMA International and BELUX we had the two presentations back-to-back.

The Q&A panel with the two presenters allowed us to dive even deeper into the subject and explore the positioning of the CDO in the organisation and take a look at some of the pitfalls.
