EU Data Privacy regulation impact on data management

We are very pleased to announce our next event, which will take place on Tuesday, 27th June 2016, and will be kindly hosted by pharumlegal, at their offices in Brussels.
This event will focus on the impact of the upcoming EU Data Privacy Regulation on data management. We start with the legal view of the regulation as it relates to data management. Subsequently we get the perspective of a DPO on the practical implementation.

What a data management person should know about (EU) 2016/679
Mrs. Jenna Auwerx, senior associate at Pharumlegal.
You can read all pages of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and still fail to understand the actual consequences for the processing of data and data management in general. Jenna will discus the consequences of the new regulation and how it will impact your day to day job.
Mrs. Jenna Auwerx
is a senior associate at Pharumlegal, specialized in European competition and commercial law, with a strong focus on data protection issues.  She assists clients during administrative procedures before the national authorities and the European Commission and defends clients before national and European courts.  Jenna has experience both as a lawyer at the Brussels bar and as an in-house counsel and Data Protection Officer for a large industrial company.  Recently, Jenna obtained a certification as Certified Information Privacy Professional / Europe (CIPP/E), allowing her to act as external Data Protection Officer.

How to approach the GDPR requirements in a sustainable way, a DPO view.
Mr Piet DIEPENDAELE, Data Privacy Officer, AXA Bank and Insurance Belgium.
Piet will be zooming into the practical consequences and the steps that need to be taken to comply with the regulation. Specifically focussing on the link with the Chief Data Officer and Enterprise Architecture to create a sustainable support for the compliance with the regulation.
Mr. Piet DIEPENDAELE
is Master in de Staats- en Bestuurswetenschappen (Rechtsfaculteit RUGent) en sinds 2013 voltijds Data Privacy Officer bij AXA (Bank en Verzekeringen). Daarvoor was Piet werkzaam bij RUGent (Babbage Instituut voor Kennis- en Informatie Technologie), Bacob en Dexia, en dit op diverse domeinen zoals expert systemen (artificiële intelligentie),  IT Klantenbeheer/marketing, IT strategie, IT proces & change management, en Quality Assurance.
