DAMA BeLux (Belgium & Luxembourg) Chapter: Review of 2009 EventsOur Belgium and Luxembourg Chapter had a very successful year, with a full schedule of events, very interesting presentations, and active and involved participants. This included half-day (afternoon) events in March, June and September, and our annual full-day conference on November 25, hosted by Deloitte and SAP at the SAP Lounge in Vilvoorde. The topics of three half-day (afternoon) events included :CPM (Corporate Performance Management) and Agile BI (Business Intelligence) (March, hosted by IBM)Enterprise Architecture, TOGAF and Archimate standards (June, hosted by KBC)Business Process Mining and Business Process Management (September, hosted by GDF Suez / Electrabel)
For the annual conference in November, there were two “keynote” presentations in the morning plenary session:“Enterprise Model Engineering” (Dr. Monique Snoeck, Professor, K U Leuven) “Business Semantics” (Mr. Stijn Christiaens, Chief Operating Officer, Collibra)
In the afternoon, we tried something new, and split up into three different “tracks” (each with two presentations) :Financial Services (presentations on BIAN / Banking Industry Architecture Network, and on business modeling for ISO Financial Message Standards, by SWIFT);Government and Public Sector (presentations on the Higher Education Database, and on Business Semantics in the FRIS / Flanders Research Information Space);B2B, E-Commerce, and Supply Chain Management (presentations on Semantic Integration by SCA Packaging, and on Sustainable Logistics through Collaboration and Consolidation by Tri-Vizor)
As usual, we finished the day with a reception and drink, always valuable for networking and continuing discussions. The reception also included a speech by a high-ranking Belgian government official, who discussed the strategy and vision for innovation and simplification of the federal information assets, used to provide all Belgian public sector services. We would like to thank all of our host companies, presenters, and participants for their contributions to a very successful year. We look forward to your continued support and active participation in 2010 !Best regards, DAMA BeLux Board of Directors ( Peter Campbell, Patrick Derde, Jan Henderyckx, Joris Moons, Dominique Scheuren, and Dr. Jan Vanthienen [ Professor, Faculty of Business & Economics, K U Leuven ] ) http://www.dama-belux.org |
